Wish of a Lifetime from AARP

The Vision Centre values its collaboration with Wish of a Lifetime from AARP”, a non-profit organization created to support the fulfillment of experiences for individuals 65 and older.

This organization embraces aging and the inherent wisdom that accompanies it, where older adults are celebrated for their accomplishments and sacrifices, and where intergenerational connections are part of our daily lives. Their mission is to shift the way society views and values our oldest generations by fulfilling older adults’ dreams and sharing their stories to inspire those of all ages.

Vision Centre and Wish of a Lifetime will work with interested universities and their partners along with others in the senior living field to help embed this opportunity for granting a resident’s wish of a lifetime. Our belief is that leadership participation in making this happen will also be an important learning and shaping experience for our future leaders. We also believe that for elders later in their life and requiring care and services in a senior community or at home being able to fulfill a dream or wish certainly would enhance the quality of life for them and emphasize the positive experiences and qualities of aging, which helps change the image of growing older in this country.
