The Department of Sociology and Gerontology in partnership with Scripps Gerontology Center offer two on-campus graduate programs: Master of Gerontological studies and a Doctorate of Social Gerontology. Our community is rooted in collaboration and supported through a shared mentorship model, such that students work with a variety of faculty and Scripps researchers so that their teaching and research experiences enhance their individual development and preparation for the job market. The majority of students are on Graduate Assistantships that waive 100% of tuition, 33% of general fees, and out-of-state surcharges. Graduate Assistantships also come with 9-month stipends (funded for 2 years for MGS and 4 years for PhD).
